YSSY // “SOONER” - SINGLE REVIEW
YSSY, is a indie synth pop duo based in Toronto. The duo is comprised of singer-songwriter/producer Elliot Caroll and multi-instrumentalist/producer Simeon Abbott. They released their first single “You Stay I Stay” in January, YSSY debut EP is coming this Summer. The band also started the independent record label and music production company Spruce Sound in 2018.[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2mCVfVRfRc&w=560&h=315]YSSY have released their follow up single and it’s a gorgeous one. “Sooner” tells a story of realizing how you actually feel about someone and wanting to tell them, yet you don’t know exactly how. YSSR says it’s an almost love song. The track is full of rich harmonies, beautiful melodies, and pulsating retro 80s synths. The lyrics are heartfelt and sweet but not at all saccharine.
